Hello! My name is Blake. I live in Brisbane, where I am a Spanish Maths and Business teacher at a secondary school. I taught English at a number of English schools in Brisbane city while I was studying at University and now I often teach there during my holidays. I have learnt Spanish and Chinese to an upper intermediate level and am currently learning Italian, Portuguese and French. I have a B Commerce, a Graduate Certificate in teaching and learning, and a TESOL Certificate. I have a range of hobbies and interests including surfing, cycling, guitar and learning languages.

Moi en tant que professeur

I have been teaching for around four years at both secondary and English language schools in and around Brisbane city. At the English schools I taught a range of students from beginners through to IELTS preparation. I really enjoyed meeting the wide diversity of motivated students that attended these schools, and learning about their backgrounds and future plans.

Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement

I use a relaxed lesson style with a high degree of emphasis on speaking and listening skills. I like to progress students at a rate that encourages them to develop without causing them to be overloaded. Where possible I use realistic dialogues and authentic teaching materials tailored to the wants, interests and needs of the students.

I really enjoyed the first class. We talked about life in Australia. Blake is very patient with the students, and I know that with more practice I can improve my English. I recommend it to everyone!!
