MERY HERNANDEZ

Mery Hernández is energetic and thoughtful in her approach--at my stage, that means splitting our time between conversation and formal lessons with solid materials that she provides. I've learned a lot in both. I'm not quick with a new language, that's just how my brain is wired, but I'm more than satisfied with the steady improvements I've made with this fantastic instructor!

I can't say enough good things about Mery as a teacher. She is patient and kind, but also firm, organized, and focused on my learning. I've been "low intermediate" at Spanish for a very long time, but with her help, I'm moving forward steadily and gaining confidence.

Wonderful teacher! She has a lot of learning materials, and at my level, I benefit from the way she splits the time between conversation practice and exercises. I'm certain she would be excellent for a wide range of Spanish learners.

Working with Mery has been a great experience. She speaks clearly, and our conversations have been very helpful in getting me to talk in a more coherent manner. I appreciate her kind, but steady corrections when my grammar or pronunciation are off mark. She is also is great at working through materials with me. I'm at an intermediate level, but my chaotic previous experiences--a bit of training in high school and college level, off and on travel in Latin America, drills with Duolingo--makes me a hard-to-pin down older student. I feel she's really helping me improve in a systematic way. Finally, she is a thoughtful, kind person who is investing in using her skills and training to help me advance!
