My first lesson with Sofia was great! She was very encouraging and patient with my very rusty Italian, and she asked plenty of questions to keep the conversation going.

Sofia is an ideal teacher for practicing in conversation. She is very good at keeping a conversation going, asking questions to keep you speaking and keeping you at ease. She corrects when necessary, but not in a way that impedes your attempts to speak, thus cultivating an ideal environment to practice speaking fluidly without getting too hung up on accuracy. She also is very good at grading her language for her students - adapting the way she speaks so as to be comprehensible at their level, without being infantilizing or overly slow. I definitely would recommend her classes to anyone who wants to practice Italian conversation.
