Donggyu Kim

Another ver nice lesson with Donggyu. You can see that he is very organised and yet he adapts the lesson to you constantly. In this lesson, he could see that I already had some knowledge about the topic, so he went off the script to push it a bit further. It was really enjoyable and challenging as a student. He is a calm and patient teacher who encourages you to speak and participate. He will, of course, correct you but in such a pedagogical and kind way. I am on the autism spectrum and have ADHD so it can be difficult for me to find people I get along with or that knows how to deal with me but Donggyu is doing an excellent job. He figured me out quite quickly. I can't wait for the next lesson.

Donggyu is hands down one of the BEST teachers on italki. 👍🏼 What I deeply appreciate about my lessons with him is that he explains things in a calm way. Never have I ever felt embarrassed to say any sentence in Korean, even though I make lots of mistakes. It is always a pleasure to have classes with 김동 고씨 . He's always making sure I understand everything before moving on to another lesson. In this lesson, he made me speak a lot, which I appreciated. He let me enough time to think about my answer, and I really liked the way he corrected me. He told me when one thing was not right and let me time to rethink my answer. He did it in a non judgmental and positive way. Thanks to 김동고씨 I felt confident about myself, and now, I want to speak more and more Korean.

Donggyu is an excellent tutor and will definitely satisfy your learning needs. Classes are really enjoyable and engaging, and most importantly, modelled to fit my pace of studying. Donggyu offers numerous tasks to facilitate memorising new phrases and all the explanations are clear and easy to understand. The tutoring is always carried out in an amiable and supportive atmosphere. Truly recommend.

I feel lucky to have classes with 동거남! You can see how good and observing he is when he adapts the lesson right in the middle of it. He is going with the flow and your pace of learning. Sometimes, he slows things down and something, he's going faster than he had planned because he is very attentive to how you are learning. We are also learning about the history and the culture of Korea. He always comes up with very interesting topics and resources.

Like always, it is really a pleasure to take lessons with Donggyu. He is a very patient teacher. I am amazed at how he is teaching the pronunciation of hangeul. I made a lot of progress quickly thanks to him. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to learn Korean.
