Hi (oder, hallo)! I’m a German-born Kiwi who lived in Germany for a part of her childhood, before moving to New Zealand. Growing up there, my siblings and I used German as our secret language, almost like a form of pig latin, to communicate privately. A few years ago, I moved back to Germany and now live in Berlin, working for a German company where I speak German daily. I joined italki to help others learn German while continuing my own language journey. I look forward to connecting and sharing the joys of learning a language with you!

My teaching style is friendly, approachable, and adaptable. As someone who has learned languages through experience and immersion, I understand the challenges of learning a language first hand. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable practicing, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace. I believe in a conversational approach, focusing on practical, real-life German that’s useful and fun (both in a private and business context). My goal is to help students build confidence, whether they’re starting from scratch or refining their skills.

My aim is to make learning enjoyable and supportive, while also incorporating cultural insights to enrich your experience.
