I already had some experience with Tigrinya, but these lessons really helped me improve a lot. The lessons are well structured and everything is explained clearly, which made me feel more confident speaking. Even if you don’t know the language at all, he explains everything calmly and takes the time to make sure you understand. I would definitely recommend these lessons to anyone who wants to seriously improve their Tigrinya.

Learning to conjugate Tigrinya verbs correctly is truely an enjoyable process. There are certain patterns that are very similar to other sister languages, such as Amharic, Arabic and Hebrew. Suffixes can be confusing (e.g. ኩም vs. תם vs. تم vs. ችሁ), but once you gain orientation through practice, you start feeling at home.  Thank you Mearg for this unit's comprehensive flash-card, with the major tenses so nicely organized !!! 🙏🙏

As a lover of art, I find the Tigrigna alphabet so beautiful - it is really a therapeutical experience, where every single detail must be carefully formed with precision. In this fast, modern world, as we tend to type everything, I am very thankful for the opportunity to pause and pay attention to minute details of the breath-taking Tigrigna calligraphy !! 🙏🙏

Lent is a good time to learn about the religious and historical background behind Tigrinya vocabulary, as examplified in the names given to the days of the week in Tigrinya, conpared with the equivalent names in Amharic; Likewise, the first person verb conjugation's prefixes in present simple represent linguistic dilemmas shared between our Semitic languages nowadays. Thank you Mearg for these important perspectives !! 🙏🙏

He is really good. He used a Google Docs document and clearly listed what we want to work on and the areas I personally want to improve. Everything was organized and easy to understand, which made the session very helpful and focused. I felt heard and supported, and it gave me a clear direction on what steps to take next. I cant wait for my next lesson
