Guten Tag! Wie geht es Ihnen? Ich bin Ihr neuer Lehrer bei italki, wenn Sie wollen! Let me switch to English though, in case, you are not fluent in German yet. My name is Bernd and I am a native German speaker, stemming from the Heldenstadt Leipzig. If you don’t know, what that means, I will gladly enlighten you in our lesson or you take it as homework. The world and all its different cultures and peoples are my passion, so I love travelling and meeting people from everywhere.

Moi en tant que professeur

I have been teaching my mother tongue since 1999 in classroom settings and switched to online teaching in 2020. Since then, I have taught numerous students from different countries and with a wide variety of personalities as well. My style is friendly, but rather formal, because our overall aim is making you fit for the language rather than win a buddy, even if that may go along sometimes. This attitude will also give you a glimpse of a german trait though, where it takes time to melt up.

I offer to cover all the essential topics you need with pdf slides always with modern and relevant content. What you can expect in my lessons: • We will move through the levels according to your individual needs, either by plan or spontaneously • We will regularly review material from earlier levels, especially grammar. • I will pay special attention to your pronunciation. • We will practice using the formal address (“Sie”), since it is essential to handle this form flexibly in everyday life. • Whenever it fits, I will also share valuable insights about Germany and its people. • Each lesson is 45 minutes long. • Homework is possible but not mandatory
