Phoebe Carmona

Phoebe is a GREAT teacher: relaxed, encouraging, helpful. She has a very relaxed personality and is very easy to talk with. She speaks clearly, slowly, and at a level you can understand. She makes you feel very comfortable; it feels like you are talking with a friend. She will guide the conversation and ask questions when you need some direction, but she lets you pick the topics if you want as well. She takes notes during the lesson so you can see what you need to work on outside of class. She corrects you while you are speaking but still allows you to finish your thoughts. Her corrections are helpful and simple and she encourages you to try again with the correction so you get a lot of practice. I love having class with Phoebe!

Phoebe is a fantastic teacher! I'm looking forward to our next lesson. She made me feel comfortable speaking Spanish and was patient and helpful with me. I was surprised to see how much I could understand and say even at my level. Instead of just giving me English translations when I didn't know a word, she helped me understand through explanations in Spanish. It was a fun and productive lesson.
