I really enjoy reading, writing, science and history. I also have a background in therapy, and I read Tarot cards and am learning computer programming. And I eat a lot of kale! It's great.
I taught myself French to C2 level using pretty much only the Pimselur tapes, the movie Amélie (for my accent), Netflix, and by reading classic French literature in both French and English, along with news articles in French and English. My C1 level Spanish I learned at cooking school in Guatemala, with some tutoring, the Pimsleur tapes, and in conversation.
I learned languages because I was curious about what journeys that might take me on, and who I might meet. I really enjoy talking with people!Moi en tant que professeur
My main focus is on helping students achieve their goals in the way that best suits them. I have helped people prepare for job interviews, work on manuscripts and study for tests.
The majority of my classes are conversational in nature. My goal is simply to keep students engaged by talking about things they're interested in, while providing corrections and grammar insights as the discussion develops. This creates a natural and fluid learning environment where you learn by trying to express what you want to express, and seeing what you are missing.
I have familiarity with a wide variety of subjects and can participate in fun or thoughtful discussions about things you are interested in. Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
My classes have two main focuses: conversation and learning.
Some students want to learn something specific, such as accent, or vocabulary related to a job. When students ask me for help interviewing, I ask them questions from the S.T.A.R. method, or I use questions they submit to me.
But the majority of my students just wish to practice speaking, and for those classes I seek to give my students the opportunity to use English in an environment that helps them to express themselves and to understand the person they're speaking with clearly, while learning grammar and vocabulary as they go. This creates an organic experience of learning and exchange that is meant to be fun and interesting.Mes ressources d'enseignement

So I gathered good materials from the library and the internet, and traveled to Mexico and Guatemala, went to cooking school, and taught myself all the things I wanted to know.
