Hello everyone!
I’m a graduate of both Sheffield University and Halle Wittenberg University, where I majored in Japanese Studies. I spent ten years living in Tokyo, during which I taught English at a conversation school and deepened my appreciation for Japanese language and culture. In 2025, I moved back to Germany and would like to start teaching my mother tongue German. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, travelling, and going on long walks with my dogs. As a teacher at a conversation school in Tokyo, I worked with learners across a wide range of levels. I taught both online and in-person one-on-one lessons, tailoring each session to meet the individual needs and goals of my students.

The first one-hour class with Katja was great. We focused on basic conversation as I had asked and we agreed on topics and structure together based on my needs. A very enjoyable class, she is well organized and delightful to chat with. She also gave me homework, which is great. Looking forward to the next class.

Though only an introductory session, I really enjoyed the conversation with Katja. We spoke only German (as hoped) and she corrected me as needed. She speaks very clearly and was delightful to chat with. I highly recommend her!
