Hi/Bonjour/ Ciao, My name is Eric Berry. Je m'apelle Eric Berry. Mi chiamo Eric Berry. For simplicity's sake I will continue in English. I live in central Stockholm and have taken a volontary early retirement from my previous career as a leader within marketing and project management. As I'm passionate about languages and travel I have now started to work part-time as a travel guide. However, given my deep interest in languages and different cultures I would also very much like to share and help those who want to learn more about Sweden and the Swedish language. Apart from English and Swedish I also speak French and can communicate in German and Italian.

Moi en tant que professeur

I believe that a language is learnt by talking a lot during lessons and then in between them study words and grammar. I would typically start a lesson by asking what has happened since the last time I met the pupil, and ask if he/she has any questions. Then I would bring up a topic, i.e. a news article, a new tv-show, etc. and start a conversation around this. As we encounter words that the student doesn't understand or know I will ask him/her to write them down and study them as homwork. I will not neglect grammar though. I will gradually expleain how present, past, futeur tense, etc. is formed, and of course other grammatical rules.

Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement

I would say that I have a fairly relaxed approach. I would typically start a lesson by asking students if they have any questions. After these first few minutes I will ask the students to tell me about their day/week etc- During a these first two sessions questions around words, grammar or other stuff are bound to pop up. I will then tie this up into a more learning part where I explain why certain things are said or spelled in a certain way. To round a lesson off I will typically have prepared any easier grammar task to perform that I will ask the students to complete for the next lesson
