Jenni Maria

My main task was to start speaking Finnish. I was so afraid to speak because of the language barrier and besides I had quite a narrow vocabulary. I was very nervous during my first lesson with Jenni, but she was super attentive, smiley, good-looking, smart and patient. Every lesson we touched different themes, so my vocabulary began to widen and my language barrier broke. I would like to mention that we had a very friendly vibe during our online sessions and I liked it a lot. No dominance, no pressure, no depreciation. Only respect, understanding and total support. I appreciate much how she was continuously trying to plant a seed of puhekieli in my head, because it is very important in everyday life. In the beginning I refused to pay attention to it, but then I got used to it. This soft transition was a surprise for me, but it's 100% Jenni's credit. Kiitos kovasti, Jenni!

Jenni continues to encourage me throughout each lesson. She has helped me build on my existing knowledge so I can create sentences and ask questions. Not only is she helping increase my understanding of Finnish, but she is increasing my confidence to use it as well. Kiitos paljon Jenni!

I recently had a few conversations with native finns, and some other learners well above my current level. They all complimented me on my ability to ´talk around a word´ when I'd stumble on a word that I didn't know. This is helping me keep conversations in Finnish for longer, and folks are not defaulting back to English right away when I stumble on a word. Jenni has been incredibly helpful in helping me build this skill, which admittedly is a skill more valuable than I realized.

Before the classes with Jenni, I was afraid to speak Finnish. But Jenni’s smile and her positive attitude helped me not to be afraid and to practice Finnish. Every lesson she makes very useful notes that help me a lot. We have been studying together for almost a year, and I am happy that I met her. I can strongly recommend Jenni as a great teacher. Jeeni is a nice teacher and has a really warm and great energy to work with. She can help with anything you ask based on your needs. She is also friendly and really patient to explain and practice during the lessons and knows a lot of Finnish grammar. I appreciate she was always on time for our lessons and helpful everytime i had something to ask through the chat. Kiitos!
