Miya sensei is very professional with during lesson practice and follow up efforts. During lessons if I there is anything I don’t understand she gives a thorough effort to ensure understanding.

I had a specific request to practice for a Japanese spoken language interview examination. Miya sensei went out of her way to research the interview criteria and diligently created materials to help prepare me for the examination. Additionally, Miya sensei is excellent at fluidly changing the complexity of the Japanese she uses to suitably match the level of her student. Therefore, she is an appropriate teacher for anyone from the beginner to the advanced student.

I've been studying with Miya-sensei for one month now. I am a complete beginner and it seems I think I have found the best teacher for my case. We're following the Genki textbook, however Miya-sensei does not only focuses on the book exercises, but we also practice a lot pronunciation and vocabulary. Miya-sensei is always calm, patient and very attentive to all my questions and difficulties. I appreciate her professionalism and always look forward for next lesson. I highly recommend Miya-sensei to anyone who wants to start learning Japanese from scratch!

Miya-San is a fantastic teacher to work with. She has really helped me to focus on new goals and to help guide me in areas that I need to improve. I also enjoy chatting with her about various topics, and I feel further motivated to study so that I can improve and communicate effectively! 10 lessons in and here is my review for Miya sensei. For some context, I am an intermediate learner taking free conversation classes with the aim of improving my conversational skills. Lessons with Miya sensei is like having a conversation with a friend. She is naturally curious and always prompts or asks questions to keep the conversation going. We have talked various topics, some lighter in nature such as travel, to more complex ones such as cultural differences. She is also accommodating if you have specific topics that you want to discuss about and comes prepared to classes with relevant materials. Her friendly and patient demeanour allows me to speak freely without the fear of making mistakes. She is meticulous in her notes and we always end off sessions with a summary and feedback of sentence structures that can be improved or new vocabularly that can be used. Lessons with Miya sensei is something to look forward to!
