Hello! My name is Marisa. I am a native English-speaker from the Unites States who is conversationally fluent in Spanish. I have also studied many other languages like French, German, and American Sign Language.
I have had a passion for language learning my whole life. Through studying other languages myself, I understand the challenges that a language learner has and can use this knowledge to help you learn English! I know just how frustrating it can be trying to use the trickier parts of a language, and how rewarding it is when you finally are able to converse with others.Moi en tant que professeur
When I was at university, I studied International Relations and French and Spanish. After graduating, I spent a year in the Dominican Republic teaching English to students of all ages. I worked primarily with students in elementary and middle school and with adult learners as well.
The following year I worked in the English Language Institute of a local university. I worked as an informal Spanish/English translator and advisor for international students who were studying English in the US.

Because of my extensive experience working with non-native speakers, I am a very patient and encouraging tutor. I want to work with you to meet your goals. I will help you assess your level and get to know who you are. I find conversational practice to be one of the most effective ways of improving. I want to hear about what is most important to you, and together we will design a program that will make you successful.
