I’m Henry, a linguist and German/English specialist with 15+ years of teaching. Born in Czechia, I’ve lived across Germany and Slovakia—so expect real-world language and cultural insights!
My linguistics background means I don’t just teach grammar; I decode how languages work, making even tricky concepts click. Whether you’re prepping for school or certificate exams, business German, or casual conversation, I’ll tailor lessons to your goals.

I am patient, calm and friendly. I use mostly my own specialized materials for teaching, but also many books and online material to explain any topic as clean and effective as possible.
I teach since I was 18(now it is 16 years with over 1000 of students): I taught kids, adults or managers in many companies in classes up to 16 people or face-to-face with only one student.
Currently I am working in the Goethe Institute in Bratislava.

Im currently working on getting to a B2 level and I feel confident that I can get there with Henry. He points out issues in my language and helps me to fix them, or works with me for a couple lessons to improve them. He also introduces new Grammar ideas or Vocabulary that helps me significantly to improve my language. Thank you! I hope to reach B2!

Wow, 100 lessons! That's hard to believe! Henry, you are still just as patient and prepared during my 100th lesson as you were during the 1st. When I started, I didn't know ANY German, and I've learned so much. I'm looking forward to the next 100 lessons! :-)

This was my 110th lesson with Henry. I am a veterinarian with a practice on the Central Coast of California and my wife and I travel frequently to Germany. Both of us have had over 100 lesson with Henry and have made significant progress. Henry is willing to go as quickly or slowly as needed to help us learn the language. I highly recommend him.
