I am really enjoying these lessons with Airi-san! Even though I am not great at speaking Japanese, she is very patient and I feel I am becoming more confident each time. I also really appreciate the effort she puts into sending through all the vocabulary that we used so that I can read through and practice afterwards. Airi-san is also very friendly and fun to talk to, so would definitely recommend her as a teacher!

Airi-san is the teacher you want if you're a beginner at Japanese. If you're like me and get anxiety even thinking about a one-on-one lesson, because you're not confident in your Japanese, then congratulations, you've found your tutor. I actively avoided any tutor here that says they have conversation based lessons, because I don't need that kind of pressure in my life and I doubt you do, either. Airi-san is the first tutor I've had to where I'm able to listen and understand Japanese, because she makes sure to keep everything at my level. She has a Masters in English and is easily able to do that. She will repeat important information or reword it so it's not just "good luck hearing it the first time." She makes an organized guide with all the new words you've learned. And it's not just a wall of text. It's divided into word - meaning - example sentence. She's also been kind enough to recommend music when I've asked, so her lessons also add to my Spotify playlists. Thanks Airi-san!

I just finished another great lesson with Airi-san and realized I've not actually left her a review yet and since she absolutely deserves the best review ever, here goes. Airi-san is perhaps the easiest tutor I've ever spoken with. After the very first lesson, I was looking forward to the second one. That's never happened before. She has a Masters degree in Language arts and working towards her PhD and it absolutely shows. She's so good at speaking at a level I can consistently understand that I thought I was better at Japanese than what I actually am. It took me about 3 lessons to figure out she was always talking at my level. If you're like me and you're a beginner, but know some basics, she'll grow your confidence. It's motivating to be able to see my progress speaking with someone in Japanese. I feel like I went from can't say a sentence to can have a conversation. I know you don't know me, but trust me when I say you should book her trial lesson. You won't regret it.

Just finished another fantastic lesson with Airi-san. It's always nice to learn new words just by talking. Today we ended up talking about pachinko, internet culture, and J-pop artists. Neither of us planned it, but she's good enough at keeping the conversation going where it just flows and doesn't mind repeating whenever I don't understand and explaining as well if I still don't understand. I try to avoid conversation-based lessons, because I'm enough of a beginner that I don't want to sit there in awkward silence and pretend to understand, but since she's good at seeing when I don't understand and don't mind me asking, then she's the best person to speak with to improve your speaking and listening skills. If you've made it this far into a review that's probably buried, you have your answer. Go take her trial. You'll regret nothing. She's starting to get popular already and I'm not surprised. Try her lesson out while she still has some availability. Trust me. :-)
