My name is Peter and I come from the oldest city in Europe: Plovdiv. After I graduated from a prestigious linguistic high school in Bulgaria, I moved to Canada, where I continued studying languages and language teaching methods in my BA, MA, and PhD. I really love foreign languages and cultures, and I use this platform to meet people from all over the world.Moi en tant que professeur
I have been teaching German and Italian for over 15 years at a prestigious Canadian University as well as at a local language school. I have experience teaching all levels and age groups, both in-person and online. Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
In my lessons, I integrate all five language skills—listening, speaking, reading, writing, and culture—and I advocate for a sixth skill: strategy awareness. My eclectic approach, informed by my PhD in Applied Linguistics, allows me to adapt to each student's individual needs. Knowing seven languages helps me connect with learners and leverage their existing knowledge. Peter is absolutely your best bet for learning Italian if you live in the western hemisphere, otherwise lining up times with someone is impossible. Despite that Peter is incredibly personable and his background teaching Italian at University is very helpful to the learning process. He offers coaching, curriculum, homework, and conversational teaching. I have a trip in a few months and thanks to Peter I think I will be able to communicate effectively!

Peter is the best Bulgarian teacher I’ve had. When we started working together he recommended a textbook that would be easier than the one I had been using. From there we have been working through the book. We take fun detours as well, talking about culture and slang, and he’s even given me a recipe to try. He also suggests listening to Bulgarian tv shows, youtube videos, and other things so I can get more exposure. I find his instruction clear and helpful, and I’ve made much more progress on my language learning with him than any other way I’ve practiced in the past.
