Romi-san is a great casual style teacher. It feels a bit odd to even say teacher, because we talk, then after the lesson I realize that I've picked up more words and grammar that I didn't have before, but I never feel like I was "taught" anything. She's able to keep the conversation going, is always helpful, and usually doesn't mind repeating herself multiple times since I'm still a very beginner at Japanese (sorry about that Romi-san :-) but I never feel like I'm being talked "at" but just being talked "to"...and somehow at the end, I know more Japanese lol. She's certainly not a blackboard style teacher, but when she picks up on what I'm learning outside of class, she will elaborate so it's more clear and make sure I'm given the chance to use it. She makes it a point to speak slowly and clearly like she does in her intro video. She's one of the most very beginner conversation friendly teachers I've ever came across. It's nice to be able to use the little bit of Japanese I've learned

I just finished my first lesson with Romi-san. If you watched her introduction video, that's how she speaks in lessons as well. I've learned a little bit of Japanese, but I still struggle with listening comprehension. Romi-san made sure to always keep pace with me and speak at my level. After the very first time she noticed I didn't understand she said immediately in Japanese "I can support you in English if you need" without any pressure or judgement. I've had other tutors that I could understand their videos, but then they would speak very fast during the lessons, so it's nice that she doesn't do that. She's very easy to talk to and within 15 minutes after the lesson ended she sent me a personalized list of grammar and words that were used that I didn't understand. She was kind and professional throughout. Other tutors prompt you to leave a review. She didn't do that, but she certainly deserves the best one I can offer, so please consider taking her trial. You'll regret nothing. :-)
