Ciao!☀️ I'm Paola, I am a native Italian speaker and a certified teacher. I'm from Apulia, in Southern Italy, from a beautiful city on the Adriatic Sea called Bari.
I'll be very happy to help you in your journey through the Italian language and culture. As a language student myself, I know the struggle, but I promise you it's going to be fun!
Getting in touch with new cultures and meeting people from all over the world is what I love the most about this job, I feel it really gives you a wider perspective of the world.

I have a MA in Italian Language and Culture for Foreigners from the University of Bologna, as well as a DITALS II Certification from the University of Siena. This background helped me form a teaching method that supports students in both their knowledge-building and in their motivation.
I have been teaching Italian since I was a student - as a volounteer, in schools, and online.
I have experience in teaching Italian to both teenagers and adults, and in preparing them for exam certifications.
Learning is a neverending journey, so I constantly try to keep abreast of new teaching techniques by attending conferences, webinars and specialised courses.Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
In my lessons, I find the communicative approach to be the most effective one: real interaction and communicative competence development are essential in learning any new language. Besides, setting your needs and goals before starting is crucial.
I believe that motivation is a fundamental part in language learning: lessons have to be useful and enjoyable at the same time. That is why I always organise activities that are relevant to the student, keeping a balance between converational practice and grammar.
I also like to use real-life materials, when possible: newspapers, films, songs, blogs, and videos can be excellent tools in language learning - you'll see!Mes ressources d'enseignement

In the last couple of months, I went from barely being able to put a sentence together to giving a (hopefully coherent) 30-minute presentation in Italian, all thanks to Paola and her creative approach to teaching! I'm extremely happy with my progress so far and always enjoy our classes enormously.

And my hundredth lesson has passed. Progress in Italian is huge. Lessons with Paola are always interesting, time flies quickly. She has a real talent for teaching. If you set a goal to learn a language quickly and without boring grammar lessons, I recommend you try lessons with her!
