I was so discouraged because I needed at least 23 in writing and 22 in listening and in the previous test I got only 21 in both these sections. Then I found Ben on Italki and he literally made a miracle! In fact, IN LESS THAN 10 DAYS he was capable to explain me all the tricks that I needed to know in order to crack TOEFL ibt test. In my opinion, his methods are extremely effective. In fact, when he focuses on a certain section, he provides a full and detailed set of instructions on how to proceed, appropriate words to use, tempates and examples. In this way, it becomes incredibly easier to confront each part of TOEFL and to get the desired mark. Eventually I scored 26 in writing and 25 in listening for a total score of 107. I was extremely happy because that attempt was the last one available before the deadline of the University I wanted to apply for. That is why I will always be grateful to Ben!

I had a great lesson! We focused on the Duolingo speaking and writing tasks, and the feedback was really clear and practical. I especially liked how Ben was corrected my small but important mistakes: adding -s for he/she/it, keeping my past tense consistent when telling a story, using -ing forms correctly, and fixing my prepositions and articles. Ben also helped me describe pictures step by step and use richer vocabulary. The corrections were easy to understand and I feel more confident already. Highly recommended!

Ben is simply amazing! The best teacher for those who agonize about their TOEFL exams, especially for students who are applying to grad schools (and, therefore, need to get >100 points overall). He is passionate about his job, a very supportive tutor. He is exceptionally patient with students' awkwardness. In my case (and I consider myself to be an anxious person) we worked on my confidence in speaking. I've learned multiple useful tricks that helped me to maintain my speech, regardless of heart attacks I was having during the exam, and finally get 28 points. We started form two lessons per week, and, after a couple of months, we decided to work on my speaking for three weeks intensively: a lesson every weekday. As a result, my confidence just skyrocketed. In addition to speaking, we worked on my academic writing — from scratch — with impressive results. I got accepted to one of the famous NY colleges with a rigorous writing program.

Today we focused on the Duolingo writing part, and Ben showed me how to use more linking words to connect my ideas smoothly and how to write in a way that scores higher. He also pointed out the small grammar mistakes I often make and explained how to fix them. Beyond the teaching, he generously helps for recommendation letter for a university application that I’m going to apply. Kind, dependable, and genuinely supportive.
