In my past career as an aid worker, I lived and worked across three continents, picking up languages, stories, and perspectives along the way. These days, I bring that same curiosity into teaching Spanish — helping students go beyond the textbook through dynamic conversations and real-world fluency. If I had to sum myself up in one word: inquieto — restless, curious, always learning. When I'm not teaching, you'll find me with a book in hand, out on a trail, or exploring sounds and music. I hold a BA in Journalism and an MA in International Relations. While I'm not a certified teacher, living overseas taught me how languages really stick — through stories, not textbooks. That shapes everything about how I work: no dull grammar drills or rote homework, but dynamic sessions built around real conversation and practical, hands-on learning. I specialise in helping students think and express themselves in Spanish, not just recite it. My goal is to create a relaxed environment built on trust, where students feel at ease as they progress — through cultural curiosity, meaningful dialogue, and genuine connection. Whether we're unpacking global issues or swapping travel tales, every lesson is a conversation worth having. Let's bring Spanish to life — one great conversation at a time.

An absolute all-star teacher! I have been a regular student of Rafa’s for a while, and I always leave fully energized after our Spanish chats. The conversation flows, and I hardly note that any of my deficiencies in the language are barriers to deep and meaningful exchanges. I absolutely recommend his “Next Level Spanish!” modules, where he finds thought-provoking material, based on common interests, to review before the class. I often wish that the clock would just freeze, as his questions and suggestions generate so much intrigue that I just hate having to disconnect.
