I want to start by emphasizing just how fun and positive classes are with 赵蕾. Some days I'm so tired because of work, but I always come out of class feeling so excited to keep learning! At the beginning of each class 赵蕾 and I have a conversation in Mandarin where she lets me talk about anything I want! Normally, when I first learn a language, I get so worried about making mistakes… but I never felt that way even once in a class with 赵蕾! She’s really good at creating a safe space, which has helped me gain so much confidence in speaking! After our conversation time, she has PowerPoint lessons that we follow where I can learn new words and grammar points. Even though I do a lot of self-study, these PPs really help give structure and direction to the class! Lastly, I really love how we mostly speak mandarin in class even though I’m just a beginner! That’s the best thing any language teacher can do for their student! I would 100% recommend 赵蕾!

Today I’ve had my 200th lesson with Zhao Lei, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with my experience from day day one . She is incredibly patient, professional, and encouraging, and she always creates a comfortable atmosphere that makes learning enjoyable and motivating.

I've had about ten lessons so far, and am really enjoying them. The exercise book we're working through is good, and she adds lots of custom content as well. We also spend a good fraction of the time just chatting in Chinese so that I can practise everything I'm learning in a more natural context. I strongly recommend her as a teacher.

Every lesson with Zhao Lei is precious: we pactice free speech, the review Chineses characters and then read a new text on new topic. Time flows very quickly on lessons with Zhao Lei: it seems, that we have just begun and the next moment is - one hour is gone.

It was so nice to discuss my journey to China with Zhao Lei! Zhao Lei gave multiple insights and shared stories related to the places I visited this year. Lots of knowledge and fun at the same time!
