Véronique

I was so lucky to stumble across Véronique's profile in 2020, and we've kept the conversation going ever since. Psychology, philosophy, health, the state of the world—whatever comes up, we roll with it. She helps me express myself more clearly (not just grammar fixes). She also wraps every session reviewing key phrases she's captured in the chat for practice later. She's the one you can talk about anything with, always finding the lighter side—my wide-ranging interests and questions fit right in. I have gotten way more fluid! I always leave delightfully surprised that I just said all that in French.

I dare you to find a teacher that has a better lessons per student ratio than Véronique. It will be hard, and there are many good reasons. First, Véronique speaks really beautiful French, and she doesn't just correct your grammar. She helps you express yourself more eloquently. That's not something we can take for granted in a teacher these days. Secondly, she is a consummate conversationalist. She takes a genuine interest in what you have to say, and that's an essential ingredient for a meaningful discussion. Of course this is her work, but she doesn't just phone it in to fill the hour. She is there 100%, with all her curiosity and attentiveness, and that makes a noticeable difference. Last but not least, she is a fun person. She doesn't take herself too seriously, her outlook on life is with a sense of humor, and this combined with her compassion and openness makes the interaction more than a language lesson. I’ve had conversation lessons with Véronique for almost 4 years. She’s attentive, patient, caring and thoughtful. She has a special way of correcting without interrupting the flow of conversation. By the end of our time, she’s written key sentences that she has you repeat.
