Another fun conversation with Mami :) She has a different teaching technique than other tutors I've had. I would say she concentrates on conversational skills and just being able to have a conversation together. She does take notes in the chatbox of skype with the different words I'm struggling with or that she teaches me. After that she explains the word in Japanese-- she definitely doesn't use English and I appreciate that greatly. Compared to six months ago, my conversation skills have improved immensely, and a huge part of this is thanks to Mami.

Having fun is a huge factor in learning. I think if you don't have fun while learning, it soon becomes a chore and you are more likely to quit. I have great fun talking with Mami, and it motivates me to learn more. Not only knowing that you are understood by the other person, but that they take an interest in what you say, seems pretty special to me. It makes me realize that all the hours spent studying and learning weren't for nothing, that you can communicate your thoughts and ideas to another person that doesn't speak your native language. Thank you, Mami!

Even though I’ve fallen behind in my studies due to a busy schedule, Mami-san continues to be a patient and understanding tutor. Her kind and encouraging guidance motivates me to regain my confidence in speaking and stay committed to my learning journey. 今日もたくさんの応援に感謝します！

Mami-san never fails to be engaging and be genuinely interested in our conversation during her lessons. Talking to Mami-san is like talking to a good friend and enjoying it but you're also learning at the same time, which is reallly cool. I'm glad I now able to talk to Mami-san alot more & better in Japanese, compared to our first lesson in September 2018. Definitely looking forward to our next lesson!
