Hello there! I’m Freddie; an award-winning educator, university lecturer, and founder of FoL English, with over 15 years’ experience teaching and examining across 10 countries.
I am a Convenor and Director of Studies at a British university and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). My qualifications include a degree in Philosophy, PGCE (QTS), MA TESOL (Distinction), and Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English Online, alongside a British Council Commendation and a Mentor of the Year award.
My interests range from philosophy, politics, history, business, economics, AI, and tech to travel, tea, TV, and strategy games — and I’m comfortable discussing virtually any topic.Moi en tant que professeur
I specialise in intermediate to advanced learners (B1–C2+) who feel their English has plateaued and want to move decisively to the next level.
My students include professionals and executives, entrepreneurs, undergraduate and postgraduate students, exam candidates, young learners (13+), and English teachers.
I help learners refine how they communicate — with greater precision, fluency, and confidence — whether for an urgent presentation or interview, or for long-term academic, professional, or exam success.

I teach primarily through original, interactive PowerPoint courses that you won’t find anywhere else. Better yet, all materials are provided for you.
My lessons go well beyond everyday small talk, engaging instead with abstract and intellectually demanding topics appropriate for the highest levels of English.
Every class concludes with a detailed PDF containing personalised corrections and feedback. Optional homework is available on request.

I can confidently recommend Freddy as a teacher. All lessons with him are conducted in a very friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Freddie is one of the best teachers I have ever met in Italki. In each class, he is well-prepared, and he creates his own teaching materials to suit specific needs. Today, he identified areas for improvement in my essay by highlighting using different colors. The discussion was specific, to the point, providing a clear objective.
