Hi! I’m Yunzheng, from Fujian, in the southeast of China. I grew up in both China and the U.S. After earning my bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary, my curiosity to see the world took me to Mexico City, where I began my teaching career as an English teacher at a K-12 bilingual school. I fell in love with teaching, and earned my master’s in Language Teaching from University College London. I’ve taught English and Chinese to students of all ages in Shanghai, London, and Oxford.
I’m an avid language learner and traveler! I also speak Spanish and work as a Mandarin-Spanish translator for TV series. I love traveling and have been to more than 70 countries✨🌍.Moi en tant que professeur
📚 This past year, I taught English at a summer program at the University of Oxford and Mandarin at one of the best language schools in London. I am friendly, patient, and understand the challenges of language learning firsthand.
Therefore, if you are a beginner, I have the materials to support you build a solid foundation of the target language. We will focus on grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. After the beginner stage, language immersion is key. We will speak in the target language and talk about different topics based on your interest. ✔ Totally OK to make mistakes! I will listen carefully and correct your mistakes in our Google Doc (correct grammar, expand vocabulary & improve pronunciation)

I really love Yunzheng. Having the class with her can makes my boring life colorful. At the same time, I can also make progress in English speaking. She makes me more confident than before about my English, because there are so many students majoring in English who speak English very well and I was so sad about my English. She is so kind and so nice that I always want to have class with her. She really encourages me. Thank you Yunzheng. You really changed my boring life! Yunzheng is a great teacher and there are a few points I find extraordinary. First, unlike other teachers, she is very well prepared for conversation practice lessons offering a wide variety of interesting conversation topics making these lessons very engaging. Second, Yunzheng is a greatly experienced teacher who is very excited about language learning. Finally, Yunzheng speaks native level English and can immediately give perfect Chinese translations even for very advanced terms/phrases.

Yun is honestly such a lovely teacher, I’ve really enjoyed every class with her. She corrects my grammar mistakes right away, but in a super kind and encouraging way, so I never feel embarrassed.
I’m preparing for an interview recently, and she actually adjusted the whole lesson to focus on that. The questions she asked were very thoughtful and really made me think deeper about my answers. It didn’t feel like a “normal” class — it felt very practical and personal.
After class, she even sent me a summary of my mistakes and the questions we worked on. I was really touched because you can tell she truly cares.
I always leave her class feeling more confident. Highly recommend 💛
