Hello! Greetings from California!
I'm a professional Actor and Director, Acting Teacher, and writer living in Hollywood, California, USA. I am well-read, and was an English major at UCLA with a minor in Acting. I teach Accent Reduction to pro actors in LA, who are then able to get booked for American roles. I was born in California, and have lived here most of my life.
I've traveled the world as a singer, and have also met many different types of people as a teacher. I have studied French, Spanish and Russian. I am currently very focused on learning Russian (Я говорю по-русски) and I am even beginning to learn Chinese.

I have been teaching most of my life. My mother is an English teacher and my father has his PhD in physics. My two sisters are professors. Teaching is a primary profession in our family.
I first taught SAT exam preparation to Chinese students in New York. Then I taught English for Berlitz, in Santa Monica and in Puerto Rico, and at ELS Language Centers.
My teaching here at Italki is very flexible. I'm great at getting people to speak in English while I make corrections in the moment. This works very well, especially if you record the session. My students improve quickly!
I work on improving your grammar and your choice of vocabulary. Many of my sessions are dedicated to improving accent. Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
I enjoy teaching English. The most important thing is to encourage my students to speak conversationally. You will quickly become more confident. I will correct your mistakes and explain why. For intermediate students, we will go through a grammar book and explain English step by step.
For accent reduction, I use articles, or exercises with my students. You'll be able to start using new English words in speaking or writing right away.

Highly enjoyed my first lesson with Peter. I was afraid that the sound quality would hinder the process of learning, but Peter is very sensitive to sound and manages to discern the tiniest differences in your accent. He used word pairs to show the difference in sound, which I found very helpful. He also gave some advice on how to better connect with the listener and improve the quality of your voice overall. Can't wait for our next lesson!

The lesson is led in a casual manner whereas your phonology gets nitpicked on to analyse and fix. It’s easy to follow as no one is going to rush you and it would get customised right away adjusting to your interests if you wish. If you want to discuss anything in English along with your sounding reviewed, you can book lessons with Peter. He also sends examples of speech patterns relevant to your learning to follow and practice out of a lesson. I really liked that we read articles together. As a non-native speaker, while reading I don’t have an inner manager in my mind of what might sound off, so Peter helps a lot.
