Hello, my name is Jana and I am a professional linguist from the Czech Republic. I graduated with a Ph.D. in Linguistics from a North American university and I have been employed as a linguist and language specialist since, working mainly for North American and Western European companies. I am familiar with the structure of a variety of languages, which certainly helps when teaching people of various backgrounds.

In addition to being a linguist, I truly enjoy teaching languages. My Master's in English and German Philology from a Czech university involved a teaching component and, as a Ph.D. candidate, I also tutored Bachelor's students. Given my educational background and the fact that I spent over 10 years studying and working in North America, I focus on teaching English and Czech.

Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement

As a language teacher, I prefer one-on-one sessions since they have the greatest benefit for the student. Since I am a professional linguist, I can accommodate any student's needs. Those wanting to have a productive conversation are as much welcome as those interested in the structural aspects of the language. In general, I put emphasis on the overall correctness of what students say and I am also a great believer in homework, both as a practice and a motivator to stay engaged.
