Hello, I’m Michaela!
It’s my goal to help you get the IELTS band you need to take your next step, whether it is to attend the school of your dreams, immigrate to a new country or further your career. I very much enjoy working with students and am dedicated to providing high-quality and effective lessons.
I have spent the majority of my life in Ontario, Canada, and I now live in Ohio, in the United States. I have a neutral North American accent. In my spare time I enjoy reading, cooking plant-based food and spending time outside.

We are probably a good fit if..
1. You have at least a few hours available to do homework between classes.
2. You are able to use Zoom and Google Docs. I use Zoom to host the class and Google Docs for homework. If you don’t know how yet, that’s okay! I can help you.
3. You can take the lessons with a computer, laptop or tablet. Unfortunately a mobile phone won't work.
4. You have, or are able to purchase/borrow: THE OFFICIAL CAMBRIDGE GUIDE TO IELTS FOR ACADEMIC AND GENERAL TRAINING (student’s book with answers). I use this book because having authentic practice questions is essential and there are only a few free authentic Cambridge practice materials online!Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
I know the IELTS can be very overwhelming, which is why I want to guide your energy and focus towards things that will have the greatest impact on your score.
Before starting the IELTS preparation lessons, I will ask you to complete a practice test. I use your answers to create a needs analysis. This information helps me create lessons that focus on areas of the IELTS where your score could be improved. I also listen to your ideas about what you want to spend time on.
Some of the most important tools in the lessons are: the official scoring rubrics of the IELTS and authentic practice questions. Zoom is my preferred platform for lessons. Please message me if you have any questions!Mes ressources d'enseignement
