I am a retired dentist living in Texas who enjoys teaching English and learning Spanish. In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, pickleball, bicycling, hunting (mostly deer), crossword puzzles, reading (English and Spanish), and traveling to visit grandsons in California and Georgia.

I have been teaching English as a volunteer and a tutor off and on for many years. I really enjoy working with and helping Spanish speakers. My Spanish level seems to increase as their English level increases. It is very satisfying and gratifying to see my students' confidence and excitement be awakened. My academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry, a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, and a Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry. I also have an online TEFL/TESOL certificate.

I teach informally using grammar, pronunciation, reading, listening, and a lot of speaking and conversation. Most lessons will have a bit of important grammar and then conversations about topics that the learner requests. The lessons will be tailored to fit the student's level and needs and desires as related to job, school, family, friends, or whatever. I try to instill the idea that "Knowledge Is Power."
