I was born and raised in the suburbs of New York City. I earned a B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing from The University of Wisconsin- Madison. I have extensively traveled the world, including Japan, South Korea, Italy, England, Albania, Mexico, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Laos, and Thailand. For over a decade I have worked in the New York Television and Film Industry. My hobbies include watching television and film, reading, cycling, hiking, and traveling.Moi en tant que professeur
For over a decade I have taught students of all ages and levels. My experience includes, but is not limited to, working as an IELTS teacher in Vietnam, a Conversational English Tutor at The University of Wisconsin- Madison, a New York Public School Substitute Teacher, and a Remedial Grammar teacher at a New York Community College.
I believe the student should speak for about 75% of the class time. I genuinely enjoy improving my students' pronunciation. If necessary, I break down the words and syllables to the smallest sounds, so that the students know exactly what they need to improve. Mes leçons et ma méthode d'enseignement
I focus on IELTS Speaking, IELTS Writing, General Conversation, and General Writing. I am also open to assisting you in any way that seems beneficial to your language learning goals.
In Conversational English classes I view myself as the interviewer and the you as the interviewee. I want to keep you talking while I simply type notes to you while we are speaking. I occasionally pause the conversation to provide notes and have more of an authentic conversation. We can discuss prepared topics or whatever suits us.
In IELTS practice we focus on vocabulary, idioms, and the actual test questions. We discuss opinions and your life experience stories, so you are ready for anything.Mes ressources d'enseignement

I really enjoy Robert’s class. We talk about interesting topics and he always adapts to my needs and learning goals. I was looking for a teacher with a literary background and I’m so glad to have found him. During these months, we have had great discussions about classical and contemporary books, movies, tv shows, poetry, drama, or just casual conversations. He makes me laugh while he corrects my pronunciation and that encourages my confidence. My English skills have been great since I’m taking his lessons, even my friends and coworkers can notice how much I’ve improved! Highly recommended!

Thank you Robert again for our lessons for few years. You can't imagine how you helped me to prepare for IELTS and with my essays. I appreciate our classes a lot because we can talk about everything and you also pay attention and write down phrases and colocations in the chat.
