I have been learning Chinese with Yanzi for over two years. She has been helping me improve my reading and writing skills. Every week we read articles that I pick and she helps me with my pronunciation. She is enthusiastic and her lessons are enjoyable. I will continue to take her lessons. 我觉得曲老师是很好的老师。她帮助我学习中文。现在我可以读新闻的文章。我也可以写自己的文章。每周我跟老师读一个文章。老师也改变我读错的发音。我很喜欢老师的课。

Excellent! Very very patient. I really struggle with the ü sound of 去, and she's very patient repeating it with me. 去, 去, 去. (I'm still not there yet.) I asked her to interrupt me quickly and bluntly when I get the tones wrong, and she's excellent at working the way I like to work.

Excellent. Very patient. And very good about correcting my tones and pronunciation.

Terrific. Great teacher. Excellent listener. I have a specific textbook (from Hunter College) that I need to follow. And Yan Zi is wonderfully flexible, and is amazingly skilled at teaching from a new text in my textbook, which she had never seen before. I also asked her to interrupt me bluntly and correct me when I make mistakes. And Yan Zi listens well and teaches the way I want to learn. She patiently repeats 热, 热, 热. (Each time I get a bit closer to the correct pronunciation) and other words I mangle. In summary, she's always prepared with her own dialog. But she's such a great listener and effortlessly shifts gears if you have your own textbook or other materials you want to follow.
