Hi, I'm Emma, I specialize in teaching adults General English and Conversational English, and I love what I do! I'm a CELTA certified English teacher from the United States, and I've been teaching English since 2015. My classes are unique because there is a strong focus on speaking skills, and I provide you detailed error corrections at the end of class to help you become more aware of your most common speaking mistakes. I was born and raised in Texas and I have a standard American accent. My number one hobbies are definitely traveling and perfecting my Spanish. I consider myself to be a very patient, laid-back teacher. I teach General English and Conversational English, and my specialty is teaching intermediate and advanced level adults, but I have experience teaching all different levels of English, from A1 to C2. I've taught people of many different ages and backgrounds, both online and in person. I typically use the first lesson to determine what your level of English is. Once I determine your English level, then we talk about what you're interested in and what your goals are with English. For my General English Course, I give all of my new students a detailed learning plan which will outline all the language objectives you will learn and master throughout the course. I typically alternate between working with a coursebook and then giving a speaking skills lesson in which you will practice using the new grammar and vocabulary you've learned though speaking. I send you detailed speaking corrections at the end of class.
My Conversation Course is more focused on developing fluency when conversing. We focus on a different topic for each class. I present conversation questions related to the topic to help guide the conversation. I also give you speaking corrections at the end.Certificats
CELTA Certificate - Cambridge English - 2016I attended a 120 hour intensive CELTA Certification course in which I taught general English to group classes of elementary, intermediate, and advanced level adults. During the course, I prepared and delivered a variety of student-centered language lessons including grammar and vocabulary lessons and receptive and productive skills lessons.

I have taken her lessons for over a year and I definitely see the progress! She seems to understand what I want to say when I struggle, and suggests the word/expressions that I was looking for. Especially, her virtual whiteboard is a very effective way to see where your common mistakes are. Her warm and friendly way of teaching made me feel more confident in expressing my thoughts in English! Thank you Emma, for all your work!

It's only my second English lesson, but I'm happy. Emma is very kind and supportive because she gives me the time to think about something and I don't have the fear to make mistakes. She explains grammar points in an easy way so that I can understand what my mistakes are. Her lessons covers all the fields and different topics.For this reason, her lessons are not boring, but they are encouraging and very interesting at the same time.After the lesson, she always sends the exercices and the material done to me so that I can review for the next class. I think she is one of the best English teacher I have ever had. I absolutely want to continue studying English with her. The beautiful thing is that when I have class with her is like sharing some time with your friend: it's a lesson because we study together, but it seems to speak with a friend drinking a coffee. She is very friendly and cheerful. I'd like to give you ten stars. Thank u and see u in a couple of weeks 🌺

I’ve been studying English with Emma for about six months. I definitely see the results and my skills has really improved. I am very comfortable with her. I like the way she organizes our lessons. I always get motivated after an each class because she gives me inspiration.
