My name is Giovanni and I was born in Turin in the north of Italy. I have lived abroad for many years. Way back in 1994 I went to live in Dublin in Ireland where I worked and studied for 6 years and then moved to Wales in the United Kingdom to study for the Bachelor of Arts in Documentary Photography. I lived in the U.K. and Ireland for about 12 years. In 2006 I moved to Bangkok in Thailand to teach English for a private language school and later on I found work at the Italian Academy of Fashion and Design as a teacher of Italian, English and photography. I also taught Italian at the first University of Thailand in Bangkok called Chulalongkorn. Now I live in Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand.
In 2005 after obtaining my Bachelor Degree from the University of Newport I studied at the University of Cardiff and achieved the PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) which is the necessary qualification in the United Kingdom to be able to be a teacher. In 2006 I moved to Bangkok in Thailand to teach English and Italian. I am a teacher who likes to be flexible, given the many years spent in different countries I am able to understand students from different cultures. My lessons are always targeted at each individual. I am a teacher full of enthusiasm and with many years of experience. I always encourage students to ask questions. I am very friendly and approachable.

This was a continuation of the oral exam preparation we were doing last week. One of the topics was around changes in languages. This is of particular interest to me, so I was able to try to express some complex concepts in Italian, which I had never done before. Giovanni aided me with the refinement of my raw ideas into more natural Italian expressions. This was both a fun and fulfilling experience. I feel good about knowing how to express some more complex ideas in Italian now!

Oggi abbiamo avuto una lezione emozionante! We looked at a homework that included pictures from my weekend, and Giovanni even shared some pictures for his life! This type of studying is fun because it gives great examples of typical conversations, and it makes me feel like Giovanni is a great friend instead of a teacher. Grazie Giovanni- a domani!

Today was a continuation of the oral exam preparation. This again involved reading a text and answering questions. Again, I tried to answer in a free-form manner, and Giovanni supported me with corrections and guidance on certain unfamiliar (to me) expressions, vocabulary and conjugations. Very beneficial!

We turned this week to preparation for an upcoming oral exam. Thanks to Giovanni's aid over the last several months, I find that I am able to speak in Italian more naturually ( though of course, not natively). Consequently, the focus was on the potential discussion topics of the exam, on my responding in a more freestyle manner, with fewer planned responses. Giovanni guided and corrected me as required, and offered some different ways in which to express certain ideas. Extremely helpful and also very fun!
