I've really enjoyed learning Kannada with Jayashree. She is incredibly patient and takes the time to make sure I understand not just the words, but the context behind them. In one of our conversations, she explained the grammar around the verb "aagu" in a way that made it much easier to understand when and why it's used.
What I appreciate most is that she always looks for the context before giving translations, rather than offering direct word-for-word equivalents. This approach has helped me build a much deeper understanding of the language and how it's actually spoken.
Jayashree is also very encouraging and creates a comfortable learning environment where I feel confident asking questions and making mistakes. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to learn Kannada in a thoughtful, practical, and supportive way.

My Kannada teacher Jayashree is extremely patient and an excellent teacher.
She helped me a lot in describing my weekend experience — I went to Donegal in the Gaeltacht with my partner and my former manager. She guided me in expressing this in Kannada, including talking about the stunning Irish landscapes, especially the cliffs, as well as the local food and aspects of Irish culture.
Her teaching style is very clear and practical. She always encourages me, gently corrects my mistakes, and provides natural translations that I can actually use in real conversations. Because of her support, my confidence in speaking Kannada has improved a lot.

Jayashree is an amazing teacher! She helped me translate the Kannada song "Dwapara" and made the whole lesson both enjoyable and insightful. We had so many laughs about the song's over-the-top romanticism and its delightfully crazy moments, which made learning feel effortless. She explained everything clearly, was patient with all my questions, and created such a relaxed atmosphere. I learned a lot while having a great time. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for engaging and enjoyable lessons!

My Kannada teacher is exceptionally patient and precise in her teaching. She explains the exact meaning and subtle nuances behind words in a way that makes the language truly understandable, not just memorised. Even when I shared my experience of being in ‘Japanese language mode’ after my trip and temporarily struggling with Kannada recall, she was understanding and encouraging throughout. She creates a comfortable learning environment where mistakes feel safe and learning feels natural. A truly great teacher.

I asked Jayashree for help with a transcription I had struggled with, as I couldn’t recognize some letters. During the lesson, she immediately identified that the text was in haLe Kannada (Old Kannada), not hosa Kannada (modern Kannada). The letters I had been struggling with don’t even exist in the modern script — what a relief! She clearly explained the differences between the two forms and showed how the script evolved. The lesson turned into an unexpectedly fascinating exploration of Kannada history. I left feeling reassured, motivated, and very grateful for her deep knowledge and patient guidance. Then she shared a lovely song which she helped me translating and we had a good laugh over some of my misunderstandings - so grateful for such a wonderful teacher !
