Hi! I’m Gabby and I’m a certified English (TEFL) teacher from Malta. With over 5 years of experience, I’ve taught over a thousand students online and countless others in person. My first teaching job was as a conversational English tutor where I helped students hone their listening & speaking skills. At university, I studied environmental management which led me to work for some fantastic non-profits where I got to create fun workshops & teach people from all over the world about the environment. Recently, during the pandemic, I’ve been teaching English online. As a teacher, I believe it’s important for me to get to know you, your interests, and your reason for learning English. As a result, my lessons are always tailored for each student. For instance, I love traveling, cooking, gardening, and getting involved in environmental projects, among other things. I’m always keen to try new things; right now, I'm learning how to speak Hindi! The next step will be to book a trial lesson. We will spend this lesson getting to know each other and generally getting an idea of what my lessons are like. Why plan a lesson with a sports theme when you are really interested in music or movies? Based on the first lesson, I will plan lessons in accuracy and fluency according to your needs. Accuracy involves using correct language and fluency involves speaking freely with confidence. At the end of each lesson, we will discuss what you learned and I will give you a homework assignment which we will review in the following lesson.

ConsultantI taught students of all levels and ages based in China, Taiwan, and Japan Eglish online using Oxford University Press material. I taught over 1,000 students and maintained an excellent rating throughout.
2017 - 2019
Project CoordinatorI worked will a brilliant team to manage and protect two nature reserves in the Maltese Islands. A key part of our job involved teaching the public about the reserves and all the wonderful ways we can safeguard our environment. We took people on hikes, organized workshops, and got school kids involved in tree planting activities and clean-ups.

Conversational English TutorWhile studying at University, I worked with numerous other international students as a conversational English Tutor. Even though we understand a language it can be so difficult to feel comfortable speaking and we can get completely tongue-tied. My job was to give my fellow students a safe space to practice speaking and encourage their fluency.

We've had some classes together. Gabby is the best one I ever met on italki, who really prepares and customizes materials for you and listen what you need in English learning. This is not my first class. But I used to so dare not to post a comment due to my poor expression. I want to say Gabby is a treasure teach. I want to have more classes with her and meanwhile hope she has more rest to refresh. Have a good one.

Gabi is a great teacher. Her lessons are always well prepared. Her lessons are a good mixture of conversations, listening comprehensive and grammar. I'm really glad to have her as an english teacher.
