Maki is very encouraging. She is very good at seeing where your skill level is and adjusting to where you need improvement. She has a good sense of pacing, I never feel like we are going too fast or too slow. I can feel her experience as a teacher when taking her class.

This is my third lesson with Maki-san and I am having so much fun! :) She is very warm, caring, and patient, and makes me feel comfortable in pushing my comfort zone. An hour passes by very quickly, since she always has something interesting to talk about! Maki-san also speaks slowly and clearly and brings useful materials to every class (pictures, diagrams, vocabulary lists) that help me learn. I feel like I am making great progress and look forward to continuing to take lessons with her.

Maki-sensei is always so helpful and upbeat! Each class, I get a lot of practice with vocabulary and grammar. Maki-sensei explains things well with lots of examples, and is very patient when I'm struggling to understand something. She provides a really great learning environment and I definitely recommend Maki-sensei as a teacher!

It is great to have Maki sensei in my Japanese learning journey. I have been taking Japanese lessons with Maki sensei and she is great at listening and understanding her students. Patient and calm, sensei makes her students feel understood and creates a calm environment for learners to make mistakes and to try their best without feeling pressured. I would definitely recommend Maki to other Japanese learners :)

I was very nervous as it was my first lesson, Maki was so welcoming and encouraging that made my nerves go away and I can't wait to book another lesson with her!

Maki-sensei is a great teacher and so patient when explaining grammar points. She is very good at keeping the level of Japanese suitable for my beginner level and making me feel like I understand what she is saying! The lessons are almost entirely in Japanese so you are really being immersed.
