I am half Brazilian and half Spanish. I grew up speaking English, Spanish, and Portuguese at home. This wide variety of cultures at home has provided me with a never-ending curiosity about different people, places, countries, music, gastronomies, etc...
I am driven by a desire to know more about my students and their context. In culture, I can foment bonds that will help me achieve a more accurate learning response from my students. I am an experienced teacher, I have over nineteen years of experience teaching languages.
Using Paulo Freire's methodology it is possible to create a strong bond with the student. This methodology and other dynamic resources such as mnemonics are my personal signature as a teacher. I like to employ videos, songs, cultural texts, and political and socio-geographical texts too. My goal is to find out what's the student's aim and how long they want to achieve it. Having traced their objectives the next step is to create a pedagogic plan based on their own characteristics.
I really believe in the power of a good teacher in life, it can change the perspectives of anyone.
There are a few methods I'm familiar with, too many to mention in only 700 words. Nonetheless I'd like to highlight Language through Mnemonics which has the advantage of helping you out with easy to remember catchphrases or the one hour of exercises per one hour of homework that add a nice dynamic and a quick sense of accomplishment.
