I highly recommend my Japanese teacher, Juri! A few months ago, I decided to follow my dream and start learning Japanese. I’d always loved hearing it in shows and music, but learning on my own never worked. After finding Juri online and reading the great reviews, I gave it a shot—and I’m so glad I did. From the first lesson, I could introduce myself and understand basic tenses. Every class is fun and engaging! Juri is so dedicated, both during and after lessons. She’s kind, generous, and makes you feel like you’re learning with a good friend. Her teaching is professional yet enjoyable, and even with my full-time job, I’ve made amazing progress. Juri is the best Japanese teacher on italki. She is patient during conversations, uses real life examples and materials and is open to studying/explaining anything the student wants. Her fluent English and understanding of western culture enable her to explain grammar and concepts in an easy to understand way.

In this lesson we did some conversation and I did my best to use more grammar and vocabulary than usual. I’m studying for december N3 exam, so it’s very good to practice and spot some yet weak points. After conversation we reviewed a short writing that I wrote for the lesson and Juri helped me with corrections and suggestions. For the next lesson I will review some grammar that I still don’t manage very well and some listening, because last time I did listening excercises was already some weeks ago…

Juri-sensei is a really good teacher. Her lessons have the structure you need to build a good foundation for Japanese. She is always able to recommend supplementary material for things you don't understand or are weaker in and knows where everything is in Genki. Juri-sensei is good at asking questions that are relevant for your life so you can practice and also learn vocabulary and sentence structure. She has helped me understand how verbs, adjectives, and nouns work with modifiers and the tenses which helps with speaking Japanese a lot. She is good at explaining things and giving you resources to further your knowledge. I ask a lot of questions when we're reviewing homework and she has patiently explained everything. Juri-sensei is also good at knowing what your knowledge is at and pinpointing any gaps you might have. She takes your capacity and time into consideration when giving homework which is very helpful. I've enjoyed all my lessons with Juri-sensei.
