Jessie Expert TOPIK

With the TOPIK exam a few months away, Jessie 선생님 has really given me atleast three hours worth exam knowledge in an hour, plus so much homework which I love😁. I’m feeling super confident about the exam now.

I was referred by a friend that passed level 6 of TOPIK 2 through taking lessons with Jessie. I've been taking lessons with Jessie for over 3 months now in order to prepare for my first time taking the TOPIK 2, in which I'm aiming to pass level 6 (the highest level). Lessons with Jessie are always fun and informative, and she really caters the lesson to each individual. She has created a curriculum to prepare me for taking the TOPIK based on when I want to take the test. I also feel that the homework assignments and study materials are really useful.

This is my third class with Jessie for TOPIK II preparation. Even if I’m not always motivated before starting, every time I study with her, I remember how much I enjoy learning Korean. Jessie is friendly and knows how to quickly assess your level and adjust the class accordingly. She focuses only on what’s essential for the TOPIK—important grammar patterns and strategies to maximize your score. She also helped me fix small mistakes in my speaking, like particles I often forgot. She’s very patient and encouraging, especially if you lack confidence. I’m not good at speaking, but she always motivates me. I even recommended her to a friend, and she’s also happy with the lessons!

Having learnt Korean for 10 years, today’s first class was one of the most interesting, fun and engaging classes I have had yet. We had first read an article sharing on an issue faced in Korea which formed a base for a debate (토론) like exercise. At the end of each mini discussion, we had a short summary and review of the points and at the end, had joined it together as a mini speech/ report which would be excellent practice for anyone wanting to take TOPIK or improve overall conversation in Korean (especially in sharing thoughts on current news and controversial topics). Overall, would recommend this class highly to any mid/high-intermediate and advanced students as it’s a class that is very focused on helping you express your own thoughts but with slight tweaks and improvements. Thank you for the brilliant class!

Jessie is always spot on in preparing for classes which makes it incredibly helpful and fun at the same time. For this lesson, I told Jessie that I wanted to run through news articles because I felt my Reading level had dropped recently and she prepared not one but three different short news articles which we ran through in class - not only the meaning of the words but also actively worked through the texts to summarise/ answer questions/ share my thoughts, ensuring that I really understood what we were learning. These classes are extremely helpful not in my general Korean learning but also for preparing for TOPIK/ work and hence would recommend to anyone looking to up their Korean level!

This lesson was about how words are combined so to understand new vocabulary by how it's composed. I had so much fun trying to infer the meaning of new words based on the components!
