朝气蓬勃的老年人,死气沉沉的年轻人 How do you perceive the title? That is a popular topic now on Chinese social media and it literally means “active and energetic old guys & young people are in torpor”. Doesn’t it sound odd? I’ll bring its background information up below. Recently in China, unemployment among 16-24 years old people is becoming severer and severer, even those who hold a superior degree certification have found it hard to find a job. The main reason is that graduates are more than the jobs they expected to find, with the decline in China’s economy. Things are getting terribly competitive, more and more high-educated young people show up in simple-skills-needed work, and that makes them keep questioning their efforts on academics, feeling upset and frustrated. There are just two things in everyday life of loads of them- working and then chilling at home. Comparing the status of young people, lots of senior citizens look happy and enjoyed their lives. A good number of them are retired with a pay, as well as some fairly low-demand lifestyle. They are eager to get into some things they never realized or missed out when they were young, in addition, they are more enthusiastic about their health conditions than that when they were young. Old ones can be seen mostly in morning exercise doing group. Health care products are sold well towards the elderly. So the trend let the topic makes sense and becomes popular on Chinese social media.
