クラスの説明
In the last several months, the use of AI chatbots such as ChatGPT or BingAI has exploded. It feels like everyone is talking about it. Much of the discussion regarding AI has focused more on its future effects on society, jobs, and how people live their lives. Less focus has been placed, however, on the human side of using AI. What people do with AI can be just as important!
The aim of this class is to have a group discussion on the human side of the AI debate. For example, are people so impressed by the technology that they forget it has real limitations? Real world examples will be presented where people have used AI inappropriately or even stupidly – sometimes with serious consequences. Should we worry more about human users rather than the capabilities of AI? Do most people really understand the limitations of AI technology, or are they fooled into believing it is more capable than it really is? How can be people b educated about this? Discussion will also include how people in the group have used AI or their thoughts on how other people use it. Students are encouraged to interact, share their thoughts, ask questions, and give their opinions on the subject. This class is intended for upper intermediate and advanced English students (B2-C1) who want to speak about a relevant topic in today’s world with a teacher and others around the world. No experience using any type of AI chatbot is required. An article focusing on a specific case will be provided before class to jump start the discussion.
