For matters requiring decorum, a formal approach may involve phrases like "I'm afraid the answer is no" or "I must decline," while adding regret, as in "regrettably, no," imparts a sense of genuine consideration. Politeness tempers the refusal in phrases such as "I'm sorry, but no" and "thank you for considering me, but I'll have to say no," expressing gratitude for the offer. 今日は受験（じゅけん）、とくに入学試験（entrance examination）のお話です。私たちは人生の中で、いったい何回、入学試験を受けなければならないのでしょうか。最近は幼稚園（ようちえん kindergarten）から「お受験」がありますからね。親も子も、大変な時代です。その中に合って、私の受験回数は、多分最小（さいしょう minimun）だと思います。うふふ。えーそれから、日本の教育制度（きょういくせいど education system）と長い長い受験シーズンについても、ご紹介しますね。ちなみに「1千万円   ¥10,000,000≒77，190USD」という、お金の話が出てきますが、日本人が1年で働いてもらうお金の平均（へいきん average）は460万だと言われています。本当に、教育とお金の問題は出口が見えません。
