Today's episode is about the correct pronunciation of the letters "er".

Aujourd’hui on va pratiquer la prononciation correcte de “er”. II existe 2 manières de le prononcer.

La première se prononce “é” et se trouve à la fin du mot. Comme dans manger.
Voici des exemples.
Répète après moi : boulanger / aller / chandelier / fumer / chanter / boucher / écouter / travailler / aimer / nager.

La deuxième se prononce “r” elle se trouve à l’intérieur du mot. Comme dans merci.
Voici des exemples.
Répète après moi : chercher / mercredi / personne / serveur / perdre / dernier / verbe / version / fermer / perle.

Attention il y a quelques exceptions, le “er” à la fin de quelques petits mots se prononce “r” comme par exemple : hier / hiver / cher / mer / fer.

Pronunciation of "er"

Today I'm going to talk about my trip in Kyoto No.3. We visited Mr. Kotouge kentarou, a professional potter of Tanzangama. This is located in Uji, Kyoto. Mr.Kotouge taught how to make cups.  I really enjoyed making some cups. Mr.Kotouge said, "work express the person's character who make it. Oh no!  Everybody who saw my work can know my character!

陶芸体験～丹山窯～

京都旅行二日目　この日は　京都の宇治にある丹山窯を訪れました。
ここで、小峠賢太郎氏から　「手びねり」という方法で　お茶碗の作り方を教えてもらいました。
小峠賢太郎さんは　代々続く丹山窯の窯元（かまもと）の家に長男として生まれ、家業を継いでいらっしゃいます。そんなプロの方から、直々に　お茶碗づくりを教えてもらったんです。

この日、私たちは、小峠さんが作品作りに使う　とてもよい粘土を　使わせてもらいました。
それは、黄土色の滑らかな土で、やわらかく、手で簡単にちぎることができました。
まず、その粘土で手のひらより小さい丸を作ります。それを　くるくる回る円盤の真ん中に置きます。
円盤の上で　平たく伸ばすと　それが　茶碗の底になります。
つぎに　適当な大きさにちぎった粘土を　板の上で転がしながら　細い棒のように伸ばします。
その棒状というか　ひも状になった粘土を　さっきの底になる円のふちに　置いていきます。
くるくると置いていくと、コップの形になります。置いただけではだめなので、隙間をなくすように、
粘土を手で伸ばしながら、引っ付けていきます。
それから、自分の好きな形にしていきます。
私は、日本酒を飲むときに使う「おちょこ」作りに挑戦しました。ほかの人たちは、花瓶や水差し、抹茶茶碗など　それぞれ　好きなものを作ろうとしていました。
小峠氏が、「この作業は　その人の性格がでるんですよ」とおっしゃったんですが、その通りでした。
私のおちょこは、ガタガタで、表面がでこぼこしています。でも、友人が作ったものは　形がとてもきれいで、凸凹したところが全然ありませんでした。雑な性格な私と几帳面でなんでも丁寧にする友人の性格が、作ったお茶碗にしっかりと表れていました。
形がだいたいできたら、少し乾かします。その間に昼食です。食事の内容については、また次回紹介します。
昼食後、乾いた作品の形をさらに仕上げていきます。へらややすりを使って削って、形をととのえ、模様や文字を掘ります。
私たちが体験する作業はここまでです。
このあと、色を付ける絵付けやうわぐすりをつける作業をプロの方にしていただいて、焼き上げてもらいます。
私たちが自分の作品を受け取るのは２か月後です。　とても楽しみです。

それから、もう一つ。小峠氏がお茶碗を焼く「登り窯」を見せてもらいました。
この登り窯人が３，４人は入れるぐらいの部屋が、階段状に下から上に７つぐらい並んでいました。
一番下にあるのが火を燃やす部屋で、下から上に火の熱が上がるようになっているそうです。
この窯に火を入れるのは１年に１回だけだと言っていました。
テレビとかでは見たことがあったけど、実際に本物の窯を見るのはこれが初めてだったので、
その大きさと原始的なやり方にとても驚きました。

茶碗づくりは　とても　楽しかったです。
