中国人常说 “家和万事兴”，家庭对我们很重要。一个大的家庭中有有爸爸妈妈爷爷奶奶，可能还有其他家庭成员。今天，我们跟着来自澳大利亚的麦克，一起学习中国人的家庭树。​
我的学生麦克来中国学习，他和李华是好朋友。春节快到了，李华和麦克说：“麦克，春节很好玩，来我家过年吧！” 麦克说：“好啊”​
春节那天，麦克来到李华家，见到了李华的家人。他们在厨房忙着做年夜饭呢，很热闹。李华和麦克，走到爸爸妈妈面前，对麦克说：“这是我的爸爸，这是我的妈妈。” 麦克说：“叔叔、阿姨新年好！” 李华的爸爸妈妈说：“麦克，你的中文说得真好！”​
这时，李华的爷爷戴着眼镜，拿着春联出来了。李华对麦克说：“这是我爷爷，爷爷是爸爸的爸爸。” 麦克说：“爷爷新年好！” 爷爷笑着说“欢迎你”​
不一会儿，李华的奶奶端着饺子出来了。李华对麦克说：“这是我奶奶，奶奶是爸爸的妈妈。” 麦克说：“奶奶新年好，饺子看起来很好吃！” 奶奶说：“是的，快尝一尝”​
吃年夜饭时，李华的叔叔、婶婶带着孩子来了。麦克问李华：“他们是谁？” 李华一边吃饺子，一边说：“这是我叔叔，我爸爸的弟弟，这是我婶婶，叔叔的妻子。” 大家听了都笑了，麦克也跟着笑，向叔叔、婶婶问好。​
晚饭后，大家坐在一起聊天。李华拿起一张照片，对麦克说：“麦克，这是我伯伯，爸爸的哥哥，这是我姑姑，爸爸的妹妹。” 麦克问：“那你妈妈的哥哥也是伯伯吗？” 李华说：“妈妈的哥哥和弟弟都叫舅舅，妈妈的姐妹叫姨妈。”​
麦克说：“中国人的家庭里称呼好多啊！在澳大利亚，很多亲戚称呼差不多，不像中国分得这么清楚。” 李华的爷爷说：“中国很大，很多地方亲戚称呼不一样。有的地方把爸爸的姐妹叫‘嬢嬢’。” 麦克说：“真有意思！”​
这个春节麦克学习了关于中国春节的知识，也知道了中国人的“family tree”。
