The House That Needs Fixing — Leaks, Power Cuts and Calling a Plumber | Learn Malayalam #145
説明
Every course teaches you to order food. Almost none teach you to tell a plumber that the tap is leaking.
Live anywhere for six months and the repair conversation happens far more often than the restaurant one. This class covers the parts of a Kerala house (with the Portuguese words hiding in it), the things that break and the verbs that describe them, the tradespeople who come to fix them, and the sentences that get someone to come, quote a price and finish the job.
Words and phrases in this class:
കറന്റ് പോയി (current poyi) – the power has gone
കറന്റ് വന്നു (current vannu) – the power is back
പൈപ്പ് ചോരുന്നു (pipe chorunnu) – the tap is leaking
വെള്ളം വരുന്നില്ല (vellam varunnilla) – the water isn't coming
ബൾബ് പോയി (bulb poyi) – the bulb has gone

ചിതലുണ്ട് (chithalundu) – there are termites
ഇന്ന് തന്നെ വരണം (innu thanne varanam) – please come today itself
അത്യാവശ്യമാണ് (athyaavashyamaanu) – it's urgent
