B: Pues… estoy de descanso más que nada, poniéndome al día con todo lo que tengo que hacer.

A: Bueno, no pasa nada, todo el mundo necesita un descanso de vez en cuando.

B: Soy profesora, y suele haber muchísimo trabajo durante el año, así que siempre tengo un montón que hacer durante las vacaciones.

A: Espero que estés disfrutando de tener más tiempo.

B: ¡Desde luego! ¿Y tú?

A: He empezado a trabajar de camarera hace poco, y estoy dedicando casi todo el tiempo a eso.

B: ¿Por eso has empezado con las clases de inglés?

A: Bueno, ya quería de antes, pero el trabajo me ha dado la excusa perfecta.

B: Sí, nunca se sabe cuándo va a hacer falta.

Clear usage try and + (verb)
Andrew says:
'we try and meet up when we can'
'we try and make excuses to meet up'
Putting try and before a verb means you want to do something, and you make an effort to do it - Andrew and his family make an effort to meet up.
 You may also hear try to + (verb), which means exactly the same thing.
