We accept that justice is well given only when the punishment is as severe as the crime committed… Therefore, to be morally righteous when a teenager commits murder or other major crimes, there should be a punishment that fits those crimes.

We accept that justice is served only when the punishment is as severe as the crime committed… Therefore, to be morally righteous when a teenager commits murder or other major crimes, there should be a punishment that fits those crimes.

This sounds great! The only change I would make would be to change "well given" to "served".
