"Go here" is not commonly used, and you have it right. I can think of one example of "go here". If there a group of people looking over a map and someone points to a location on the map and says, go here.

In addition to Adam's example of one possible use, 'go' can also mean attend as in 'go to school'. So, for example, you could tell a friend at university that your new boyfriend or girlfriend goes here. They attend this school.

"Go here" and "go there" are both correct. Which one to use depends on context. If you want a person to go to where you are, then you say "come here". The difference between "here" and "there" is proximity. By "proximity" I mean attention, not necessarily physical distance. It is the same as the difference between "this" and "that". The difference between the words is psychological, not physical.

The word ‘go’ has dozens of meaning in English. ‘Go here’ is fine for some of them. The towels go here (where I am touching with my hand). The wash cloths go there (where I am pointing to with my finger) (go=belong) Where do you go to church? I go here. (go = attend)
