In middle school I read “1984”, and it has changed my opinion on politics completely.
“1984”, written by George Orwell, depicts a world where the masses are controlled by the Big Brother Cooperation. In this suffocating world, the protagonist tried to find his own love, and he did then. However, as his deed was detected by police, he, as well as his lover, was arrested. Suffering from the BBC’s tortures, the protagonist surrendered, starting to think as the BBC requested. At last he chose to die voluntarily for BBC who had just tortured him. As a bullet shot through his head, his mind ended, and his story along with it.
In my mind, the story satires the psychological control by government, and thus it has changed my opinion toward politics completely.

I think you might have gotten a bad translation. BIG BROTHER was the head of the government, which was totalitarian. There was no Big Brother Corporation. If you say 'BBC' people will think you mean the British Broadcasting Corporation. Also, he was not killed in the end. The 'bullet that entered his brain' was a metaphor: it was the fact that despite what the government had done to him, he loved Big Brother. You should try re-reading it. I know there are things I read when I was young that I understood differently when I was older.
